Biography

Bilal is a highly experienced Internal Audit and Assurance leader with over 20 years of expertise in strengthening governance frameworks across the telecommunications, banking, and ICT sectors. His career is distinguished by a consistent record of establishing and enhancing internal audit functions to align with international standards and best practices.

Currently serving as the Chief Internal Auditor at Transworld Associates, Bilal leads the internal audit department, where he has successfully introduced robust risk management strategies and internal controls. His leadership ensures the function operates in alignment with global frameworks, providing critical assurance to the board and executive management.

Prior to this, as Head of Enterprise & Operations Audit at PTCL (Etisalat Group), he oversaw comprehensive audit operations across multiple business units, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. His professional foundation was built at prominent firms like PwC, where he gained deep experience in audit and advisory services.

Bilal's expertise lies in designing and conducting risk assessments, strengthening internal governance, and delivering insightful board-level reporting. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of Pakistan and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Passionate about professional development, he is a respected trainer and mentor, sharing his extensive knowledge of global benchmarks like COSO and the GIAS by IIA to drive continuous improvement within organizations.
