Biography

Junaid Khan is a specialist in Internal Audit transformation and a trusted board-level advisor on governance and risk. As an Expert Quality Assessor and panel member with the Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Chartered IIA - UK & Ireland, and the UAE Internal Audit Association, he brings deep technical expertise in delivering standards-driven improvement to organizations across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

His work is centered on evolving audit functions into strategic, high-value partners. At Etisalat Group, he led the transformation of the internal audit department into an award-winning, digitized function by embedding agile methodologies and automation. Previously, at Lloyds Banking Group, he established the data analytics and continuous auditing capability for Internal Audit, significantly increasing audit efficiency and risk coverage.

While his current role as Vice President of Value Creation at Etisalat Group involves leading a multi-billion dollar strategic transformation program, his approach is deeply informed by his background in assurance. He excels at designing robust governance frameworks and operating models that underpin sustainable growth and value creation.

Junaid holds an Executive Global MBA from INSEAD and is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with ICAEW. This combination of strategic business acumen and technical expertise in External Quality Assessments (EQA), audit automation, and QAIP implementation allows him to effectively bridge the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution.
